Darkfall Guide
June 4, 2009
Darkfall is a MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game developed by Aventurine, which launched on February 25 2009.
The game has some revolutionary features, and its centered around player freedom and the Sandbox concept, where the shape and events of the world are decided by the player’s actions. PvP is allowed everywhere, with absolutely no safe zones, and territories are defined by guilds conquests. Also, there is full loot of corpses, FPS style combat with no targeting, player built cities, massive naval warfare, and many other features that make this game unique in its genre. It’s probably a good idea to read this unofficial Darkfall strategy guide if you wish to learn more about the game. It’ll help a great deal if you’re new to Darkfall. Here’s a list of some of the most important things covered in the guide:
- Skill management: an excellent way not to waste time leveling useless skills and spells you will never use. This chapter will give you enough information to build a great character with the stuff that works.
- Quest guides: personally my favorite chapter. There’s nothing more annoying for me than wander around not knowing where I have to go, where to take and complete quests. Darkfall Online is a fun game and I find it interesting to explore areas since it’s all pretty new to me, but sometimes it just gets annoying. Fortunately, this quest guide is detailed enough to show me questing can still be fun.
- Gold making: my second favorite chapter, the Darkfall gold guide. As in every other MMO game out there, making heaps of gold is often the number one priority. I’m certain you’ll all love this chapter as it will help you save hours and hours of grinding in the wrong spots or selling items nobody is interested in.
- Combat, PvP & Warfare: even if you have PvP experience from other MMO games, Darkfall is nothing similar. It offers many unique challenges and having a different mindset and knowing combat strategies that work will give you more than enough edge.
- Race and class breakdown: this is the chapter many players would kill for. With all the wrong paths you can take with your character, it’s no wonder. Make sure you create the character which fits your own play style and you won’t regret it and reroll afterwards!
- Society, clan and alignment: this sounds much more complicated than it actually is, at least until you’re finished reading this chapter.
- Profession guides: fortunately, all professions are covered and with this guide you’ll level them up in no time. If you’re wondering which tradeskills are the most profitable and why are some better than the other, this is a great place to start.
The guide contains plenty of tips and tricks for starting out, ui setup and tricks, keybindings, solo and group strats for pvp and pve, and huge sections on magic (schools, levels, spells, reagents, etc), crafting (what you can make, when, and cost comparisons), information on where to train every skill in game, how much they cost and what the requirements are as well as an appendix listing city, bank and monster locations for the entire map. Once you download the guide, you get notification and free updates every time it’s updated (which is very frequently right now). Get the guide that Aventurine should have written, but never did!
